Five unvaccinated Bayern Munich players have had their wages docked by the club after being forced to self-isolate as a result of coming into contact with someone Covid-positive.
Four of the five players are first-team regulars; Serge Gnabry, Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting have all been hit with a salary cut, as has fringe player Michael Cuisance.
Though Cuisance is yet to make an appearance in the league this term, the absence of Gnabry, Kimmich, Musiala and Choupo-Moting will be felt sorely.
Those at the top of the Bayern hierarchy have informed all five of the players that they will not be paid by the club for every day of training or matchday they miss for self-isolation purposes when they refused to get the vaccine.

German news outlet Bild has reported that Bayern had informed all members of their star-studded squad that they would be enforcing a wage cut for anyone unavailable for selection due to their unvaccinated status.
Morale is already low around the Allianz after last week's surprise defeat away at Augsburg, in which the club were without one of their brightest stars in Kimmich due to the Germany international being forced to self-isolate.
The other four players now without pay had all been selected for that contest, before they too were placed into quarantine after being exposed to another Covid-positive individual.
This occurred just hours after Bayern's stance on unvaccinated players had been reported.
The Bundesliga titans have suffered with a Covid-crisis in recent weeks, an outbreak affecting two other stars in Niklas Sule and Josip Stanisic, though the club later confirmed that the duo had taken up the chance to receive the jab.
Kimmich has previously discussed why he has some hesitancy in getting the vaccine, telling Sky Sport in Germany: "I have concerns about the lack of long-term studies.
"I am of course aware of my responsibility. I follow all hygiene measures and get tested every two to three days.
"Everyone should make the decision for themselves."
Recent reports from Germany suggest the players in question are annoyed by the decision to dock their pay, with Kicker claiming it has led to a loss of trust between players and staff.
Even Bayern's boss has been forced to sit out games in recent weeks as a result of coming into close contact with the virus, Julian Nagelsmann missing four games this season.
Die Roten boss Nagelsmann claimed: "The players who are not vaccinated understand that the risk of missing games or training sessions is much greater as an unvaccinated person than as a vaccinated person."
