Bayern Munich handed double injury boost ahead of visit from Tottenham and Jose Mourinho

Bayern Munich have delivered some important injury news ahead of next week's Champions League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Bundesliga giants go into the game at the Allianz Arena on the back of a 2-1 defeat against Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend - their second straight league defeat - and their misery was compounded with the loss of two players.

Midfielder Corentin Tolisso limped off after just 20 minutes, while experienced defender Jerome Boateng was withdrawn shortly after the hour mark.

However, the good news for Hans Flick is that both players have been given the all-clear and should be in contention to face the north London outfit.

A statement via the club's official website reads:

"After Corentin Tolisso and Jérôme Boateng were forced off during the 2-1 defeat in Mönchengladbach on Saturday due to injuries, both have been given a tentative all-clear after further tests in Munich on Sunday.

"The Bayern medical team found that the French World Cup winner had a tight left thigh, whilst Boateng was found to just have a tight calf."

Whether either player features remains to be seen.

Bayern have already qualified as group winners so they could rest some key players, although the chance to become the only side with an 100 per cent winning record in this season's competition is up for grabs.

It was a 7-2 win for Munich in the reverse meeting at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier in the season and the visitors will be out to avenge that humiliating defeat.

Of course, much has changed since that night.

Jose Mourinho has replaced Mauricio Pochettino as head coach and the Portuguese tactician has confirmed he will use the game to take a look at the likes of Troy Parrott, Kyle Walker-Peters and Ryan Sessegnon.

"Not for me. Not for Tottenham. Not for the objectives, no. Because we are going to finish second. It doesn’t matter the result, but it's very important for the players. Very important for the players that are going to play," he said .

"It's very important for me to know them better. I am going to play for sure some of the players that are not playing with me in these matches we are playing.

"It's a great opportunity for young people. A great opportunity for the development of these young players, the Walker-Peters, the Skipps, the Parrotts, the Sessegnons, all these young players that we have, it’s a great opportunity for them."
