Bayern Munich expert makes coronavirus claim Chelsea fans have been dreading

Countries across Europe have been taking preventative steps to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Italy announced on Monday evening the suspension of all Serie A games until April 3 as they enter a country-wide lockdown in a bid to stop the virus from spreading further.

In Germany, Bundesliga matches will continue to take place, but there is a threat that all games could be played behind closed doors.

And Bayern Munich expert Christian Falk states that it is likely this will also happen for the Champions League game between Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

The Blues are due to take on Bayern in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie in just over a week, trailing 3-0 from the first leg.

But Sport Bild's head of football states that the game "is expected to be without fans".

This would involve plenty of disruption for Blues fans who have already bought tickets for the match, as well as flights and accommodation.

As of yet, no statements have been made by either clubs or UEFA with regards to matches taking place behind closed doors, including Juventus' game against Lyon which is supposed to take place next week.

However, with Serie A's postponement of all sporting activity until April 3 understandably puts that fixture in jeopardy.

Elsewhere in the Champions League, Borussia Dortmund's trip to Paris to face PSG will also take place behind closed doors.
