Bayern Munich confirm plans for Manchester United and Man City target Erling Haaland

Bayern Munich's sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, said the club would be amateurs if they were not considering a move for Manchester United and Manchester City target Erling Haaland.

The Borussia Dortmund striker is regarded as one of the game's leading prospects and was voted Bundesliga Player of the Season in 2020/21.

Speaking to Sport1, Salihamidzic confirmed Bayern's interest in the forward.

"This is a top player that probably the whole world wants. Of course we are looking there. Otherwise we would be complete amateurs.," Salihamidzic told reporters.

Haaland 's reported €75million release clause will come into play next summer which would be a relatively low sum for the likes of City and United.

Ties connect Haaland to both City and United.

The Norwegian forward's father, Alf-Inge, played for City during his career and Haaland was pictured wearing City shirts as a young boy.

Meanwhile, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was the coach who gave Haaland his professional debut in the game and played a key role in getting the 21-year-old's career off the ground at Molde.
