Bayern Munich chief sends Manchester United warning ahead of summer transfer window

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has confirmed that the Bundesliga giants will be looking at three targets on Manchester United's radar in the summer.

Like United, Bayern are on the lookout for a striker at the end of the season as they continue to try and fill the hole left by Robert Lewandowski's departure. In an interview with Sky Deutschland, Salihamidzic referenced three targets who are on the Reds' wishlist to strengthen their squad.

He said: "In all likelihood, there will be a new striker. Whether it's Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen or Randal Kolo Muani, the coming weeks will show."

MEN Sport understands that Kane is Erik ten Hag's top target in the summer having been impressed with the Tottenham Hotspur striker's form. Omens do look good for United pipping Bayern to any deal as the Englishman admitted to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak that his goal is become the Premier League's all-time goalscorer, effectively ruling out a move abroad.

United however are wary that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has been reluctant to sell Kane in the past and thus they have put together a shortlist of alternative options. On that list include Napoli's Osimhen and Eintracht Frankfurt's Kolo Muani who have both impressed for their respective clubs this season.

Ten Hag is on the lookout for a new striker after Cristiano Ronaldo departed Old Trafford in November following a controversial interview with Piers Morgan. Wout Weghorst was signed in January on loan from Burnley but it is widely expected that he was merely a stop-gap signing until the summer.
