Bayern Munich chief explains when transfer decision on former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho will be made

Bayern Munich's CEO has explained the club have not yet decided whether they will sign former Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho at the end of his loan move.

The No.10 made the switch from Barcelona to the Bundesliga in the summer after a difficult 18 months in Spain, and the German champions have an option to buy the Brazilian - for a reported £104million - when his season-long loan ends in 2020.

Though Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has saidthe club are currently happy with Coutinho and are in no rush to make a decision on his future.

He told Kicker (cited by the Mirror): "Philippe's a player with a lot of quality. He doesn't have the attitude of a star.

"He's a friendly person, popular around the club and we're really happy with the deal we managed to close.

"We will decide when the moment arrives."

The 27-year-old has scored twice and assisted three times in seven Bundesliga outings so far, and was in action as the Bavarians came from behind to defeat Olympiacos 3-2 in the Champions League Group B encounter.

Reports in Spain suggest Barcelona are looking to permanently offload Coutinho, and if Bayern don't opt to acquire the Copa America winner then a Premier League return seems the most likely conclusion according to AS.
