Bayern Munich chief addresses rumours over Man City's Leroy Sane & Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted that Bayern Munich are interested in signing Manchester City winger Leroy Sane this summer.

But while the Bundesliga champions have confirmed their interest in the German star, it does not mean the end of their pursuit of Chelsea ace Callum Hudson-Odoi.

That's according to the club's executive board chairman, who has been speaking ahead of Bayern Munich's DFB Cup final clash with RB Leipzig tomorrow (Saturday).

“We will try. I can’t promise whether it will succeed," Rummenigge said, when asked about reports of Bayern's interest in signing Sane.

"We already had the idea when he was still with Schalke. But at that time we did not have a guaranteed regular place for him. [Arjen] Robben and [Franck] Ribery were top of the top three years ago.”

Asked who will try to convince Sane on the move, Rummenigge replied: “That’s what Hasan (Salihamidžić) does.”

Rummenigge was also asked about Hudson-Odoi, who has previously been linked with a move to Germany to join Bayern, and he did not rule out a move to sign the 18-year-old, who is currently out injured after rupturing his Achilles tendon.

Indeed, Rummenigge suggested that Hudson-Odoi could still be an option for the German champions, in addition to a move to try and sign Sane this summer.
