Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac insists they will not give up on trying to secure the signing of "dream player" Leroy Sane.
Manchester City are determined to keep hold of the winger despite failing to tie him down to a long term contract extension.
The German club have already started talks with the player's representatives and sent them a sporting plan to outline their vision.
He is set to be given a deadline to decide on his future when he returns from Manchester City's pre-season tour - and Kovac says they "will do everything" to secure the signature of the Germany international.
“We all know that Leroy Sane is our dream player. The public knows that, we know that,” Kovac told Sport Bild .
“You can see that the transfer is not easy. But I know that our people are working very hard to make it happen. We will do everything to realise this transfer.”
Sane's advisors are set to present the player with Bayern's sporting plan when he returns from Hong Kong, where City will take on Kitchee today (Wednesday).
Uli Hoeness and Hasan Salihamidzic are also planning to sit down with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to discuss a move for Sane when they return from their own tour in the US.
Pep Guardiola recently admitted Sane should leave the club if he decides he would rather be elsewhere.
Asked if he thinks Sane will still be with the champions when the season kicks-off at West Ham , the City boss said: “Yes.”
But he then added: “The club made him an offer last year but I said many times that I want people happy to be here.
“We are going to help him to be the best. We know his potential and what his level is and he has a special quality that is difficult to find around the world.
“He knows, they all know, it's difficult because of the quality we have.
“But, at the same time I spoke to the club 10 times, and I want people here to be happy.
“If they don't want, they go.
“But the desire to have him to be with us is always there.”
