Chelsea may have surprised many with their 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.
Olivier Giroud 's spectacular overhead kick proved to be the difference between the two sides in their Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie in Budapest, Romania.
The Blues have the advantage ahead of next month's second leg at Stamford Bridge and could exploit any gaps as Atletico must adopt a more attacking approach if they're to reach the quarter-final.
Given Diego Simeone 's side are the current La Liga leaders, they were slight favourites before a ball had been kicked, so Chelsea 's win might have been somewhat of a shock result to many.
With the exception of Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick.
The German tactician tipped Chelsea to "go far" in the UEFA Champions League this season - which would mean overcoming Atletico - because of Thomas Tuchel 's appointment.
"Chelsea have massive potential in terms of quality and quantity," said Flick, in an interview with France Football. "It's a young team with a lot of talent.
"They can go far in the Champions League this season. Thomas has gained experience at PSG that will benefit him at Chelsea.
"He is ready for this challenge."
Flick's prediction that Tuchel is "ready for the challenge" was proven true on Tuesday as the Blues were well worth their first-leg victory.
It remains to be seen if the German can take the west London outfit all the way in the Champions League, but they are certainly on the right track.
Although, Atleti boss Simeone, when speaking to Movistar, has said that he does not see the first-leg result as a disaster by any means.
"If you'd said to me in September that we'd lose this first leg 1-0 and be top of the league, I'd have taken it for sure," he said.
