Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick offers Callum Hudson-Odoi confirmation amid Chelsea talks

Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that the German champions are hoping to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea.

Hudson-Odoi has found regular first team football at Stamford Bridge hard to come by under Frank Lampard, and reports in Germany have claimed that Bayern have reignited their interest.

The Bundesliga side have a long-held affection for the England winger, having previously tried to sign him last season.

And according to Bild, Bayern are currently in negotiations over a season-long loan deal ahead of Monday's transfer window deadline.

Chelsea v Crystal Palace: Frank Lampard press conference

Speaking ahead of Bayern's home clash against Hertha Berlin, Flick confirmed that the club were indeed planning a move for Hudson-Odoi.

"He is one of the greatest talents on the position," Flick said in his pre-match press conference.

"Therefore it is legitimate that we at Bayern Munich deal with him.“

It is understood Blues boss Lampard is keen to keep Hudson-Odoi in west London, whilst there is no desire from the player's side to leave.

But Lampard did admit that he would have some decisions to make over certain players in his squad ahead of next week.

As well as Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fikayo Tomori have also been linked with short-term moves away.

"With every player in the squad, with the situation of a loan you have to consider what's best for the player, what's best for the club first and foremost. And then see how it stacks up," Lampard said on Friday.

"So with all those three players I would take those things into consideration.

"But I haven't got an answer for you on any of those three. I have a good relationship with them all, speak honestly with them, again that's one that we'll broach player by player in the next few days.

"Once the window shuts every player that will be here will be used within our squad, because it's a long season and a lot of competitions coming up. And we'll know more on Monday."
