Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick has refused to rule out a move for Niklas Sule amid reported interest from Chelsea.
According to reports, Chelsea are interested in a move for the centre-back this summer in a bid to strengthen their defense having added Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell last summer.
It's thought the Blues will pursue a move for versatile Bayern Munich defender David Alaba this summer with the player out of contract and looking for a new challenge.
Alaba is already free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement ahead of this summer and reports have claimed Chelsea were one of the first clubs his representatives reached out to.
But Chelsea's interest may not stop with Alaba, or even with RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano, who has been linked with a move worth around £38million.
That's because another centre-back in Sule has also been linked, BILD's Christian Falk claiming the 25-year-old is firmly on the Blues' shortlist ahead of this summer.
And asked about the interest, Bayern boss Flick refused to rule out a move, telling BILD: "It speaks for a player of ours when other clubs show interest.
“We’ll see how everything develops and where he sees his future.”
Sule is under contract at Bayern until 2022, and that's what could make him available for an affordable price this summer.
Rather than risk losing him for free next summer, Bayern could opt to sell the defender if they do not plan to offer him a new contract before then.
Sule has been a regular for Bayern this season, making 10 appearances, but with just eight Bundesliga stars, he is not the starting centre-back, though, that might change looking at next season when Alaba will have left the club.
