Bayern Munich ace issues one-word update amid injury fears ahead of Spurs Champions League clash

Lucas Hernandez could be back in the Bayern Munich team this evening when they face Tottenham in the Champions League.

The World Cup winner featured for the Bundesliga leaders against Paderborn at the weekend but he was withdrawn at half-time due to an issue with his knee.

Amid fears that the Frenchman wouldn't be fit enough to make the trip to London with the rest of his teammates, he was included in the travelling party that touched down on Monday.

However, he was absent at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium later in the evening as Niko Kovac's team prepared for their European encounter with a light training session.

Speaking to the press before his team made their way out onto the pitch, the Croat explained why exactly the defender would not be alongside the rest of the squad.

"Lucas is not going to partake in today’s training," he said. "He will have indoor training and he will not be in the stadium.

"He injured himself before half-time at Paderborn and we took him out. We will see what this additional day will hold for him.

"David [Alaba] has travelled along and is healthy. Ivan [Perisic] will also be able to compete if he needs to do tomorrow."

Well, it appears that the rest may well have benefited the player as he posted a one-word update on his Twitter account ahead of the match.

He tweeted: "Ready!!!!!"

While one exclamation mark would have been enough from the player, an additional four appears to really emphasise that he is good to go against the Lilywhites.

The 23-year-old, who is capable of playing as a centre-back or left-back, has so far played in seven games for Bayern since his summer move from Atletico Madrid.
