Bayer Leverkusen chief sends Chelsea a clear transfer message over Kai Havertz

Bayer Leverkusen Sporting director Simon Rolfes has revealed that the German clubs have not yet received any official offers for Chelsea target Kai Havertz.

The Blues are looking to make the midfielder their third signing of the summer after the captures of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

Havertz has made it clear to the Bundesliga club that he wants to leave this summer, with Stamford Bridge said to be his preferred destination after Frank Lampard’s men confirmed their place in the Champions League last weekend.

As reported by football.london , Chelsea are closing in on the German international after holding talks with Leverkusen. However, the price being asked by the German side still remains a stumbling block with Leverkusen starting their asking price of a fee of around £80 million.

Leverkusen Chief Rolfes has given the latest on the negotiations between the two clubs, and has sent a defiant message to Chelsea.

"So far we have no offer," he told Sky Germany . "We know about the interest of clubs, but there is no official offer.

"We have said several times that we will end the season with our entire squad. And that includes Kai. That goes without saying for us."

The German side are back in action next week when they take on Rangers in the second leg of their Europa League round of 16 clash against Rangers.

Havertz has been back training with the club ahead of that game and is expected to be involved, despite talks continuing between the two clubs.
