Bayer Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz has provided the latest update on Kai Havertz amid Chelsea’s interest this summer.
The Blues have set their sights on the 21-year-old as their third signing of the summer after securing deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner earlier this year.
The midfielder is said to be keen on completing a move to Stamford Bridge when the transfer window opens at the end of the season, but Leverkusen are reported to be looking for a fee in the region of £80 to £90 million.
Havertz returned to training with Leverkusen earlier this week and reports suggest he has told the club that he wants to move to Chelsea.
German teammate Leroy Sane appeared to confirm the potential move on Thursday.
"Timo Werner and Kai Havertz are two Germans in one year now to transfer to the Premier League - I think Chelsea made good deals,” he said.
However, Bosz has played down talk that a move to Chelsea is imminent for the midfielder.
“Kai Havertz will be there right at the start of the training session and I am confident that he will also be with us in the Europa League,” he said, as reported on Leverkusen’s official Twitter account.
The German side are in European action in just two weeks time when they take on Scottish Premiership side Rangers in their round of 16 tie.
Havertz has scored 17 goals and provided nine assists in 43 appearances this season, prompting a number of clubs, including Chelsea to show their interest.
