Bayer Leverkusen boss issues fresh Kai Havertz transfer update as Chelsea look to wrap up deal

Peter Bosz - the Bayer Leverkusen manager - has confirmed that he knows what the future holds for Chelsea transfer target Kai Havertz.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the last few months and football.london understands that the Blues are closing in on getting the deal over the line.

It is understood that personal terms between Chelsea and Havertz have been agreed, but the sticking point remains the transfer fee itself.

Leverkusen are holding out for a fee somewhere in the region of £80million-£90million, whilst Chelsea are continuing to look at all the possible ways of paying the transfer fee required to get the deal concluded.

Though Leverkusen's sporting director Simon Rolfes, on Friday, claimed that the club had yet to receive any offers for the midfielder, Bosz has admitted that he knows what the future holds for Havertz, though he would not confirm what he meant by that.

“I won’t tell, it’s his business,” Bosz told German news agency DPA.

“I talk to Kai a lot and try to sense what all this does to him – the daily transfer rumours, for example – and I notice again and again that Kai handles it very well.”

Reports in the national media have claimed that Havertz wants to conclude his move to Stamford Bridge by this coming week, ahead of Leverkusen's Uefa Europa League tussle with Scottish giants Rangers.

However, Bosz has admitted that he does not currently know when the youngster's future will be decided.

“It’s impossible to say," Bosz admitted. "Maybe the decisive call will come today, maybe next week, maybe not at all."
