Battlefield Hardline to be delisted on consoles, online services ending in June

Battlefield Hardline is shutting down on console soon, as EA has officially announced that the 2015 Battlefield spin-off is headed toward a full sunset on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Battlefield Comms officially announced the development on X on March 23, giving us a clear timeline for Hardline‘s console life cycle to come to an end.

Starting Friday, May 22, 2026, Battlefield Hardline will no longer be available to buy on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. That means the base game will go from the storefronts, including its DLC packs, expansions, and any additional content. Once that date hits, you can only play what you already own.

It’s worth noting that this move is strictly a console storefront removal, and it doesn’t affect whether you’re a PC player, as Battlefield Hardline stays up and running on PC, including the storefronts.

Servers will shut down a month later

The second and final blow comes on Monday, June 22, 2026, when EA will end Hardline’s online services for both Xbox One and PS4. This means you can no longer play the multiplayer or online modes, and the game will effectively become a solo-only experience on these consoles after that point.

That said, EA has confirmed that players who already own Hardline will still be able to play the single-player campaign after the shutdown.

What this means for console players

For anyone who still has Battlefield Hardline installed and has been logging into the occasional multiplayer session, you’ve got roughly three months to get those games in before the servers close.

Battlefield Hardline was launched in March 2015 and was developed by Visceral Games. It took the franchise in a noticeably different direction with its crime-drama setting and law-enforcement theme.
It never quite hit the heights of mainline Battlefield titles, but it still managed to build a loyal community that kept coming back for its different take.

It’s 2026 now, and Xbox One and PS4 consoles are well past their prime. So, this kind of sunset isn’t surprising, given that the game is now over 11 years old, and the generation gap, but it still marks the end of an era.
