Original article: Electronic Arts' (EA) hit new massive multiplayer FPS Battlefield 6 has remained one of the most popular online games since it released a week and a half ago, with hundreds of thousands of players across Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PS5 — a whopping 750K on Steam on launch day, in particular — along with over 7 million copies sold in three days, and a peak position on Steam's Top Sellers chart that's still holding.
Indeed, it's unquestionably one of the biggest titles of 2025, and one of its best as well. With that said, however, it's not without various bugs and launch issues, such as some major server problems that were particularly prevalent on the game's opening weekend.
These mostly cleared up after a few days, though now, there seems to be something of a second wave of issues affecting players once again, such as "Connection Failed" errors when trying to log in, server disconnects, and unusual amounts of in-game lag.
Thankfully, EA and the development team at Battlefield Studios have confirmed it's aware of the uptick in connection-related issues, and are currently investigating the cause. That news came from a post made on the Battlefield Comms social media account informing players of the situation.

Notably, the "general outage" Battlefield Studios is referring to is almost certainly Monday morning's Amazon Web Services (AWS) blackout that's caused thousands of online websites, apps, and games — including Slack, Zoom, Fortnite, and others — to either go down or experience significant connectivity problems.

Given that AWS engineers acknowledged and began responding to the problem quickly, hopes were high that there would be a full recovery in a few hours. Sadly, this didn't end up being the case, and many online apps and programs — Battlefield included — are still being affected by the outages.
The good news, though, is that things are improving, with Amazon's latest server status updates reporting that issues are decreasing as work on resolving the source of the outages continues. There's no telling how long it will be until Battlefield 6 recovers, however.
The best players can do is hope that there's a resolution sooner rather than later, and continue trying to play in spite of "Connection Failed" errors, disconnects, and the other hiccups occurring frequently right now. I expect we'll get further Battlefield Comms posts that provide updates about the problem throughout the day; I'll be sure to update this article with the latest information if they come.
Note that it's possible the AWS outage isn't fully responsible for Battlefield 6's ongoing server issues, and may actually not be a factor at all. After all, Battlefield Studios did say it might be connected to the problem; if it's not, the game's connectivity failures may continue even after Amazon gets its web services fully up and running.
Regardless of the source of the problem, it's unfortunate that Battlefield 6 is experiencing some severe server issues again. I was very much looking forward to jumping into Conquest after finishing up work today, personally, but it sounds like I'd be better off waiting until later tonight to attempt doing so.

Battlefield 6 itself has proven to be a colossal hit with fans of EA's long-running FPS series, and is performing so well that it might actually end up eating the lunch of Call of Duty this year. Players are in love with its immersive large-scale multiplayer battles, traditional Battlefield class-based structure, large variety of weapons, gadgets, and vehicles, and more.
