There are a total of 10 multiplayer maps in Battlefield 6. Nine maps were included at launch, one of which is a modernized remake of the iconic Operation Firestorm from Battlefield 3. In season one, the game got one additional map, with more scheduled throughout the upcoming months.

Each map is built with distinct combat zones, thoughtfully designed to suit specific game modes, ensuring every battle delivers a balanced, immersive experience with diverse tactical opportunities.

Here are the maps currently in the game:

  • Liberation Peak
  • Empire State
  • New Sobek City
  • Manhattan Bridge
  • Iberian Offensive
  • Mirak Valley
  • Siege of Cairo
  • Saints Quarter
  • Operation Firestorm
  • Blackwell Fields

Battlefield 6 modes

BF6 features a mix of returning fan-favorites and innovative new modes that push the boundaries of multiplayer warfare. These modes are split into two main categories: All-Out Warfare, which delivers expansive, vehicle-driven battles, and Close Quarters Battle, focused on intense, fast-paced infantry skirmishes.

All-Out Warfare

  • Conquest: Two teams fight to capture and hold multiple control points all over the map. Deplete enemy lives by controlling points and killing enemies. When a team’s lives hit zero, the battle is over.
  • Breakthrough: Attackers push the frontline forward. Defenders hold the line. To secure a sector, attackers must hold all control points at the same time. The fight continues until attackers capture all sectors, or they run out of lives.
  • Rush: Arm and defuse. Attackers have to plant explosives to destroy all M-COMs in each sector and prevent defenders from defusing them before they detonate. When all M-COMs are destroyed, the fight moves to the next sector. The match ends when all M-COM systems are destroyed or the attackers run out of lives.
  • Escalation (new): Two teams fight to capture seven strategic control points. The team that holds the most points gains progress towards claiming territory. When the progress bar is full, the team gains a point and expands their territory, which also removes a control point from the map. The first team to get three points wins.

Close Quarters Battle

  • Team Deathmatch: Pure infantry-focused, high-intensity combat. In TDM, the only objective is to take out the enemy. First team to 100 kills wins.
  • Domination: A fast-paced, close-quarters, infantry-only fight for territory. Score points by capturing and holding objectives. First to reach the point limit wins.
  • Squad Deathmatch: Four squads compete in a close-quarters deathmatch. The first squad to reach the kill target wins.
  • King of the Hill: Capture and hold one objective to score points. The objective rotates around the map, with the location of the next one revealed around 10 seconds in advance.
  • Strikepoint: Round-based mode with one life, where two squads of four fight over one objective on the map. The team that holds the objective for a certain time or wipes out the enemy team wins the round. The first team to win six rounds wins.

Battlefield REDSEC launched with season one and is free-to-play. It includes the Battlefield’s spin on the battle royale mode, which features vehicles, all-out destruction, and classes. REDSEC also features the Portal and Gauntlet modes.

Here are all game modes in REDSEC:

  • Battle Royale: 100 players (duos or squads) drop into the massive Fort Lyndon map, complete missions, gather weapons and equipment, and fight other teams until one team remains. The circle in this battle royale instantly kills anyone caught, raising the stakes as high as possible.
  • Gauntlet: An elimination mode, where eight squads compete in various missions to score the most points. At the end of the round, the bottom two teams are eliminated. Last team standing wins.
