What to expect from Battlefield REDSEC

Battlefield REDSEC is designed as a standalone, free-to-play battle royale mode built from the ground up using Battlefield 6’s core engine and systems. Although EA hasn’t revealed full gameplay details yet, early reports and leaks suggest matches will feature up to 100 players and support traditional squad-based formats, including duos and quads at launch. Future updates may expand available modes based on player feedback.
The BF6 BR gameplay is expected to capture the essence of Battlefield’s large-scale warfare, complete with destructible environments, authentic weapon mechanics, and vehicle combat, but optimized for the typical pacing of BR. The class system is anticipated to be featured as well, enabling specialized roles, loadouts, and gadgets.
In addition, REDSEC will reportedly support crossplay between PC and console players and share cosmetic progression with Battlefield 6. Since it’s launching in sync with BF6 Season 1, the BR is expected to feature seasonal rewards, a new battle pass, and exclusive cosmetic bundles tied to the game’s debut season. EA will confirm details about the game in the official release notes.
To ensure a smooth launch, the mode was previously tested through Battlefield Labs, a platform that lets players experience experimental content ahead of release. Be sure to catch the Battlefield REDSEC official gameplay trailer premiering on Oct. 28 to get your first look at the mode in action.
