CALLING ALL MINECRAFT FANS!!!! Battle for the Nether is an adventure book about a boy who gets sucked into the world of Minecraft, the computer game. In Minecraft everyone knows the boy by his username 'Gameknight999.' He goes through Minecraft saving all the villages from evil monsters who want to destroy the Minecraft world AND the human world. They will achieve this by destroying a gateway called The Source, which will then give them a portal into the human world. Luckily Gameknight gathers an army of villagers to try and stop the monster hordes – but are they successful???
The second main character is Crafter, Gameknight's friend. Like a good friend he always gives Gameknight advice and helps him on his quest. The strangest thing about him is that he is probably the oldest crafter in the game but when he 'spawned' he spawned as a child – very weird!!
Battle for the Nether, I think, is a good read because it isn't boring at all. It is very exciting and gripping, with great battles that are described well. I liked the tricks used against the monsters, for example, the TNT and flaming arrows and the fireworks. You will have to read the book to find out all the clever plans and tricks used!
I believe this book is for anyone – those who play Minecraft and those who don't (but not for anyone who truly detests the game – if anyone actually does!!). If you play Minecraft then you will love this and if you don't play it, then this is a great way to get you started on the fun!
