Battersea stabbing: Man dies after being knifed in broad daylight in south London

A man has died after being stabbed in broad daylight in south London.

The victim, 40, was rushed to hospital after an attack in Latchmere Road, Battersea, on Wednesday afternoon.

Scotland Yard said he died of his injuries in hospital at 7.40pm.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene after reports of a fight at about 2.45pm.

Photos showed a section of the road cordoned off as police forensics officers and investigators combed the scene for evidence.

Officers said the road remained closed as enquiries continued into Wednesday evening.

His next of kin are aware police said and a post-mortem will take place.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command have been informed.
