Battersea stabbing: Man charged with murder after Tesfa Campbell, 40, knifed in south west London

A man has been charged with the murder of a 40-year-old who was stabbed to death as he walked down the road in south-west London.

Jerome Bailey, 37, of Greenock Road, Streatham, will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court accused of killing Tesfa Campbell.

Mr Campbell, from Croydon, was walking with a second man along Latchmere Road in Battersea at around 2.45pm on Wednesday.

Police believe the second man stabbed him before running away.

A post-mortem examination found that Mr Campbell died from a single stab wound to the abdomen.

Bailey was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday and charged on Monday.

Three other people were held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

One, a 26-year-old woman, was bailed until early August, while the other two - a 23-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man - were released under investigation.
