Battersea stabbing: Man, 40, dies after being stabbed during London fight

A 40-year-old man has died after a stabbing in Battersea, London.

Officers were called at approximately 2:45pm this afternoon to reports of a fight in Latchmere Road.

The Met has now confirmed the man has died from his injuries at around 7:40pm.

It is believed to be the 68th murder in the capital this year.

In a statement police said: "Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 40-year-old man suffering from stab injuries.

"He was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries at 19:40hrs.

"His next of kin are aware. A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

"We await formal identification.

"The Homicide and Major Crime Command have been informed.

"Work is underway to establish the full circumstances.

"At this early stage there have been no arrests.

"Road closures remain in place."
