Bathgate Thistle boss full of praise for side despite opening day defeat to Boness United
pBathgate Thistle manager Andy Colley hailed his team#x2019;s performance despite an opening day 2-0 defeat at Bo#x2019;ness United./p
pGoals late on in both halves put paid to the away side#x2019;s hopes of taking something from the game but Colley saw plenty of positives./p
pHe commented: #x201C;I was delighted with the display. It#x2019;s been a challenging pre-season where we#x2019;ve picked up a load of injuries and not played well but we were brilliant against a very good side./p
p#x201C;We missed three great chances inside the first 30 minutes before they hit the bar and we concede a goal just before the break from the exact same play./p
p#x201C;We didn#x2019;t heed the warning there and that#x2019;s hurt us but we had a back four that included a 19-year-old and two 20-year-olds so it#x2019;s a learning experience.#x201D;/p
pHe added: #x201C;Bo#x2019;ness are a very quick team with their passing and you have to have your wits about you and I thought over the piece we did that very well./p
p#x201C;We had another chance at 1-0 down and with a bit more composure in front of goal it could have been a different story. It#x2019;s a performance to take heart from despite the result.#x201D;/p
