Glasgow is once again being used as the backdrop for Gotham City as filming gets underway for HBO Max blockbuster movie Batgirl.
News broke in August that the city would be used for filming, as reported by Glasgow Live.
Now Batgirl's directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (of Bad Boys 4 Life fame) have both shared posts on their Instagram pages of production getting underway on the movie.
Both posted the same photo of a Hollywood clapperboard from the set of the office of Officer Barbara Gordon - aka Batgirl - along with the caption: "BATGIRL, DAY 1!!!" and a Bat emoji.
The upcoming DC film will see Leslie Grace take on the role of Gotham’s young female vigilante Batgirl, who comic book fans will know is actually Gotham City Police Commissioner Jim Gordon’s daughter Barbara.
J.K. Simmons will be reprising his role as Commissioner Gordon in the movie - a role he previously portrayed in Zack Snyder's Justice League, while Brendan Fraser has joined the cast as villain Firefly.
J.K Simmons recently confirmed that he will be in Glasgow from January to film his scenes, while the others would be on set a little bit before him.
Batgirl will make its premiere on HBO Max at some point in 2022.
