Batch of Nestle yogurts recalled over 'unpleasant salty taste'

A batch of Nestle yogurts have been recalled due to an 'unpleasant salty taste'.

The Milkybar Little Treats, which are sold in shops nationwide, have been called back as a "precautionary measure."

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland said that there is no food safety risk, but that an ingredient had been over used in the making of three batches.

The affected batches have a specific 'Use By' date of 13/02 and 14/02.

A spokesman for the FSAI said: "As a precautionary measure, Lactalis Nestlé Chilled Dairy UK is voluntarily recalling the above product with the specific use by date 13/02 and 14/02 due to a strong unpleasant salty taste caused by an ingredient which is part of the normal composition but that has been overdosed in the production of these batches.

"There is no food safety risk but impact on taste can be unpleasant to consumers."
