Bastien Hery joins Finn Harps as Shelbourne eye double swoop

Bastien Hery has joined Finn Harps ahead of the new season while Shelbourne are preparing to bolster their squad.

Madagascar international Hery spent the second-half of last season on loan at Derry City from Bohemians.

But the midfielder, 29, has struggled to recapture the form that saw him named on the PFA Ireland Team of the Year in 2018 while at Waterford.

Hery said: “I am excited to be at Harps. When I spoke to Ollie and he explained his plan for the team I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.

“Everyone knows Finn Park is a tough place to go so I’m looking forward to playing there as a Finn Harps player this season.”

And Harps boss Ollie Horgan said: “Bastien is a talented lad who will give us a lift, especially going forward.

“He knows the league well, and knows what it takes to get results in what will be a very tough Premier Division.”

Shelbourne are poised to sign Swansea goalkeeper Lewis Webb on loan while boss Damien Duff is also running the rule over New Zealand midfielder Adam Thomas.

Webb's Swans team-mate Dan Williams is set to join Dundalk on loan and, like Webb, is a Wales Under-21 international.
