Bastian Schweinsteiger has named Celtic Park as having the best atmosphere of any away stadium he's played at.
The Bayern Munich legend loved playing in Glasgow and was even linked with a move to Celtic during Brendan Rodgers time at the club.
The German midfielder has played in some huge matches for club and country, including winning the World Cup in 2014, but it’s Celtic Park that stands out for him.
Having also played for Manchester United, he’s played at the likes of Anfield and the Westfalenstadion but neither Liverpool or Borussia Dortmund’s fans have earned top billing for him.
German football fans are often known for their atmosphere and they can sell out stadia as far down as Bundesliga 3 with huge crowds.
Schweinsteiger never actually got the opportunity to play against Celtic but he was on the bench for Bayern Munich’s 0-0 draw in the stadium back in 2003.
It was early in his career and he was an unused sub and he was impressed by the noise inside the ground.
He was doing a Q&A on Twitter and was asked by a fan: “Which stadium atmosphere at away games was the most impressive?”
And he responded: “Celtic Glasgow. This was impressive.”
