Basshunter to headline Clubland night in Newcastle with Ultrabeat and Flip n Fill also on bill

Dust off your glowsticks as dance is set to return to Newcastle in a big way this autumn when the city hosts a massive Clubland night headlined by Basshunter.

It's been a while since city centre nightspot Digital opened its doors fully with it and many other nightspots, including next door neighbour Rusty's, being massively affected by the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent Government restrictions.

But, with things pointing to July 19 being 'Freedom Day' a whole host of events are now being lined up for indoors as well as outdoors across Tyneside, as many locals look forward to partying like it's 2019 again.

And one of those is Clubland Classix Newcastle, which will take over Digital on Friday, September 10.

Since it was announced near the end of last month, social media interest in the event has already been huge and with a line-up that reads like a who's who of top tier Clubland compilation, it's not hard to see why.

Basshunter, the man who shot to number 1 in 2008 with debut single Now You're Gone will top the bill, with him set to perform follow ups like All I Ever Wanted and Angel in the Night.

He will share the stage with a number of other 00s dance heavyweights.

Pretty Green Eyes is still very much a hands in the air, sing-along anthem and the act responsible - Ultrabeat - will be there, along with fellow Clubland legends Flip n Fill, the producers who gave us hits like Shooting Star and True Love Never Dies.

Other acts on the bill for the main arena include Dancing in the Dark hitmaker Micky Modelle and DJs including Jeff Scott, Evolution Bounce and JBS.

Proceedings will be hosted by MCs Finchy and Keyes, while the second room will see sets from the likes of Ollie B, Chrissy G and Double D.

Earlybird and VIP tickets are already sold out but standard tickets, available from Skiddle, are priced £28.25.

Reacting to a post about the event, one Clubland fan commented: "This event is 8 days before I move back to London for university can't wait love clubland its my life."

Equally excited, another posted: "This would be a huge TICK off the bucket list" and a third wrote: " I think I might pay a visit back home for this"
