Basel to test Hibs' Florian Kamberi resolve as Swiss giants eye up £2million bid

Swiss giants Basel are weighing up
a £2million move for Hibs star
Florian Kamberi.

Record Sport can reveal the Super League club sent a scout to Ibrox to watch the striker against Rangers
last weekend.

But the Basel representative left disappointed as Kamberi came on as a late substitute as Hibs were on the end of a 6-1 thumping in the Premiership.

Marcel Koller’s in the market to strengthen his frontline after their Champions League exit to Linz and selling Albian Ajeti to West Ham for £8million earlier this month.

Basel are likely to run the rule over Kamberi again before they decide whether to step up their interest but a return to Switzerland could appeal to the 24-year-old as it would give him a crack at European football and enhance his international ambitions.

English Championship side Brentford had a strong interest earlier this month and even made contact with Hibs although they decided to go down a different route at the end.

Hibs signed the 24-year-old moved from Swiss side Grasshoppers last year.
