The joint French-Swiss airport Basel-Mulhouse has reopened after being evacuated and closed earlier on Friday. The airport, officially known as EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, is situated on the border of France and Switzerland, proudly claiming to be the only binational airport in the world.
In a statement released by EuroAirport, it was confirmed that the airport has resumed operations, with flights gradually restarting. Passengers are advised to get in touch with their respective airlines for updates on their flights. The airport authorities extended their well wishes for a safe and pleasant journey to all travelers.
The specific reason for the earlier evacuation was not disclosed in the statement. However, it was clarified that the closure was not linked to the disruptions in the rail network in other parts of France.
