The Rangers unveiled their City Connect alternate uniforms on Monday, and fans had mixed reactions.
When first looking at the uniforms, fans generally did not like the Rangers’ alternate threads, with many observers questioning why they appear so boring.
The Rangers released additional information about the historic aspects behind the uniforms, starting with the fact that the uniform represents “all of Texas,” and not just the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The logo shown on the front of the jersey pays homage to the three minor league teams that preceded the Rangers: the Fort Worth Panthers, the Dallas-Fort Worth Spurs and the Dallas Eagles. The City Connect uniforms also represent these teams with a new mythological creature called the “Peagle,” which is a combination of an eagle and a panther.

The Rangers will debut the uniforms Friday while facing the Athletics at home. Fans surely will have more reaction to the uniforms then, too.
