This game is one the Hurricanes would prefer not to remember and one Mariners pitcher Ben Ferrick will never forget after pitching a no hitter and striking out 12 of the Canes with faultless throws throughout.
Most of the damage was done in the 4 Innings with 15 runs scored after a series of walks and some strong hits from Matt Dutton, Sam Marcus, and Matt McCann including two doubles by Matt Green.
The Mariners without doubt have to be the favourites for this year’s B League with their pre season form clearly carrying over and a result like that against such a well-established team like the Hurricanes who have a difficult trip to Belfast this weekend to face the Buccaneers.
