Comets 13 Spartans 3
In what was a hard weekend of baseball for the Spartans, the B's had a tough opener to the season going down 13-3 to the Cavan Comets.
Their long trip up to the Peace Links didn’t bear fruit but it did however feature some defensive gems by Danni Scanlon and Craig Bradley in their league debuts.
Both teams swang well at bat with Cavan getting a few breaks that let them edge ahead and keep their lead.
With a decent break now between fixtures the Spartans will be chomping at the bit by the time they play the Mariners B team in August in their next game.
