Bimboosoft has released Baseball Dreams VR on PlayStation VR2 for $24.99. The game puts players in a first-person perspective and includes several modes, including exhibition, practice, home run challenge and more.
Baseball Dreams VR takes advantage of the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller, which tracks hand position and movement to simulate realistic pitching and batting. Players throw by holding the trigger, swinging their arm and releasing at the right moment. Batting is limited to one hand, according to cusman78 on Reddit making it feel a bit unrealistic.
Fielding and base running are mostly automated, though pickoffs and steals are player-controlled. The CPU difficulty offers ten levels with more detailed adjustments available in the exhibition settings and players can choose from five teams.
Baseball Dreams VR features four game modes. Challenge mode serves as the main experience, where players face off against five teams, earning medals based on how many retries they take. Mini Challenge includes two smaller games with global leaderboards, a Home Run Challenge that tracks distance and totals over ten pitches and a Pitching Challenge focused on hitting 25 panels in as few throws as possible.
Exhibition mode lets players set up games with their preferred team and difficulty, while Practice mode offers space to work on pitching and batting using either hand with options for right-handed, left-handed, or pro-style settings.
