Barry Sanders is the greatest Detroit Lions player of all time. Beyond that, he’s one of the greatest players in NFL history. Based on the prestigious panel voting for the top 100 players in NFL history, Sanders is one of the 10 best of all time.
The Lions legend checks in at No. 10 in the NFL 100 voting from USA TODAY’s panel of experts. Sanders is the third RB on the list, behind Jim Brown (No. 4) and Walter Payton (No. 5).

Inducted into Pro Football HOF 2004; 15,269 rushing yards, 3rd all-time; 10 pro bowls; 6-time All Pro; first player to rush for 1,000 yards in his first 10 seasons.
Sanders is in between Johnny Unitas and “Mean” Joe Greene.
