Barry's Amusements Portrush sold as Trufelli family pay tribute to staff and customers

Barry's Amusements in Portrush has been sold, a statement confirmed on Monday.

The much loved seafront attraction was first opened in 1926 by the Trufelli family and has since welcomed many generations through its doors.

In 2019 it was reported that the 2.23 acre site was to be sold as a going concern but in May this year it was marketed as a development opportunity.

A family statement today confirmed the attraction's closure and thanked all their customers over the years, and loyal staff who played a major part in the attraction's history.

The Trufelli family said: "The Trufelli family wish to confirm that the Barry’s property has been sold and the business will now close.

"We wish to thank all our loyal full-time and seasonal employees for their patience and understanding during the sale process, and for the key role they played in making Barry’s such a special place for the generations of people who visited us over the years.

"As a family, we understand what a special place Barry’s held in many peoples’ hearts for almost a century.

"We hope you cherish your memories as much as we do."
