Barry Gray signs new two-year deal with Warrenpoint Town

Barry Gray has signed a new contract with Warrenpoint Town.

The Milltown club have announced that Gray and his backroom team have agreed new two-year deals.

That will see them extend their stay at the club until the summer of 2022.

Warrenpoint Town chairman Connaire McGreevy told the club's website that he was “delighted” to finalise the deals.

“Barry and the backroom team came in at a low point in the season," McGreevy said.

“They were quick to get buy-in from the players and used their first transfer window well with things clicking in lit place in the last 8 games.

“The new players were grinding out results making us one of the most in-form teams in the last 8 games.

“We are confident they will deliver the results on the pitch next season and beyond."

Warrenpoint Town currently sit second from bottom in the Premiership ahead of today's crucial vote on how to end the season.

There are two options for clubs - either play the last two rounds of pre-split fixtures behind closed doors OR curtail the season immediately and adopt a mathematical formula to determine league positions.

It is understood that nine clubs are against the proposal to play two more games, which would likely see Institute - who lie bottom - relegated to the Championship.
