Barry Ferguson questions Rangers title mentality as he makes worrying squad claim

Former Ibrox midfielder Barry Ferguson says Rangers only have two "game-changers" in their squad as he questioned their title mentality.

The Light Blues find themselves seven points behind their title rivals after a disappointing draw against Aberdeen.

Rangers were in pole position heading into the winter break after a win at Parkhead but a defeat at Tynecastle and Saturday's result means Celtic now have regained the initiative in the title race.

And Record Sport columnist Ferguson feels Rangers' recent struggles are because they only have two players that can turn the game on its head in Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.

He also claims that there aren't enough leaders in the dressing room who have the experience of winning trophies.

He told PLZ Soccer: "Well if look at game changers first, I think there is only two in the team. Well stroke three.

"I would say Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent when they are getting closely marked, then its up to other players to step up to the mark.

"In terms of the winning mentality, the desire, the hunger, you've got Steven Davis and Allan McGregor who have won trophies before.

"And James Tavernier to a certain point because he is the captain, you would expect him to be a leader in the dressing room.

"But I look at the rest of the squad and I don't really see it and that has to be a concern to the manager.
