Former Ibrox hero Barry Ferguson has warned Steven Gerrard he needs to win a trophy for Rangers to have a successful season.
The Light Blues take on Hamilton on Saturday in the Scottish Cup fifth round as they look to mount another cup run after their Betfred Cup disappointment.
Rangers were the better team on the day against Celtic but ultimately came up short as their search for silverware continues.
Gerrard's men are still in the hunt for the two remaining domestic trophies, although they have fallen off the pace in the title race since returning from the winter break.
The Scottish Cup could be their best chance to end the drought and Record Sport columnist Ferguson insists Gerrard has to stop Celtic's dominance this term.
He told PLZ Soccer: "I think he's got to win a trophy.
"That would have been the mindset at the start of the season. There are three trophies to go for, I know the Europa League is always going to be difficult.
"But with the three main trophies, you need to try and win one of them.
"I'm sure he'll be putting demands on himself and the players. I do think he is the right man for the job.
"There's been a clear improvement since he's came in from first season to this season.
"There has been a bit of a lull since they came back from the winter break, but they got that all important win against Hibs.
"Now, just just the manager, but the fans and players will be expecting him to kick on from here."
