Barry Ferguson insists Rangers have shut people up by beating Celtic in front of a packed Ibrox.
The former Light Blues captain had heard plenty about whether his former club could handle the pressure of playing in front of full houses this season after going unbeaten with fans locked out last term.
50,000 of their own supporters were inside the stadium for today’s Premiership showdown after a ticketing disagreement with the Hoops meant there were no away fans present.
And they secured a massive three points thanks to Filip Helander's second half header.
They rode their luck a little after a massive miss in the first half from visiting striker Odsonne Edouard, but Ferguson believes they’ve answered the doubters with a big victory on home turf.
“I believe there was a lot of noise questioning whether Rangers could handle playing in front of fans,” he told GO radio.
“Well they’ve proved it today.
“It wasn’t a perfect performance. Second half was a lot stronger.
“But they got the vital three points so they’ve shut a lot of people up for me.”
The win moves Steven Gerrard’s side onto nine points from their opening three games and leaves them third in the table going into the international break.
The gers sit a point behind Edinburgh duo Hibs and Hearts, but can go top with a win when the domestic action resumes on 11 September.
