Rangers legend Barry Ferguson is confident his old side can go on and retain their title, as he hailed the club for holding on to their star men.
Manager Steven Gerrard kept hold of almost all of the team which swept to the Premiership crown last season, with only fringe players departing over the summer.
The likes of Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent were linked with moves away, but both remain at Ibrox following the end of the transfer window.
It's been publicly acknowledged by manager director Stewart Robertson that Rangers will need to start generating income through player trading to get the club back on a sustainable footing.
But when it comes to matters on the field Ferguson is delighted to see Gerrard keep hold of his best players.
He said on Go Radio: "I thought maybe one (would come in) but obviously two have gone out.
"Cedric Itten, it's not worked for him let's be honest. He'd struggled to get game time. (Nikola) Katic is coming back from a long-term knee injury.
"But I was confident, Rangers have got a chairman in place who backs the manager and it was going to take a crazy bid if one of the star players were to get sold.
"Obviously that didn't happen, so I think Rangers have kept their best players and I think they're in a good place now to go and hopefully retain their league title."
