Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has urged his old club to go out and spend in January as he expects "a lot of business" from Celtic.
The Parkhead club are in the midst of a rebuild under Ange Postecoglou and have been boosted by their Premier Sports Cup triumph on Sunday.
The manager is expected to return to the Japanese market after the success of Kyogo Furuhashi, who bagged both goals in the win over Hibs.
Ferguson's former club have been open about the need to make money via player trading, but Rangers are adamant no players will have to be sold in January.
And the Ibrox icon says Gio van Bronckhorst has to be backed in the transfer market with their title rivals ready to splash the cash.
Ferguson said on Go Radio Football Show: "Do it when you're on top.
"It's clear that Celtic are going to strengthen, no doubt about it.
"But I think Rangers will as well because they're top of the league by seven points, but I think it's going to be really important.
"I'm looking forward to January because Celtic are clearly going to do a lot of business and I think Rangers will do some business as well."
