Barriers appear at harbourside ahead of weekend after Covid concerns

Barriers have been put up around Bristol's harbourside inlets after a number of coronavirus breaches last weekend.

Large crowds were spotted by the water as our city experienced one of the hottest weeks of the year so far.

Officers were called to disperse the gatherings, which started to build throughout Saturday (February 27) afternoon.

One man, who wished not to be named, told Bristol Live he saw three or four people urinating in corners while groups gathered near Broken Dock.

This evening (Friday) a number of barriers have been spotted around the water front, close to where people gathered last week.

And officers were seen patrolling the amphitheatre.

It's also expected to be a lot cooler than last weekend, with the feels like temperatures not climbing above 5C on Saturday or Sunday.

Under the current rules, you can only meet with one other person from another household to exercise.

From Monday (March 8), you will be able to meet with a friend or family member to socialise outside. This means you could have a coffee together or a picnic.
