Barrie McKay struck by bottle from Celtic Park home end as Hearts star takes corner

Hearts winger Barrie McKay was struck with a bottle during the clash with Celtic.

During the Premiership clash at Parkhead objects were thrown on the pitch from the home section of the ground.

Former Rangers player McKay was subjected to taunts from the crowd in the second half, before objects were thrown in the direction of the field as he went to take a corner.

The Jambos forward was struck by an orange bottle as police gathered in the corner of the stadium.

McKay would raise the issue with referee Bobby Madden during back-to-back corners, leading to a brief stoppage in play.

the whistler would walk over to the corner flag in an attempt to calm the situation.

However, the game quickly resumed once the Hearts player took the corner.

The scenes were immediately slammed on social media as commentator Andy Walker raised concerns over the impact on McKay.

He stated: "This is ridiculous.

"We don't know if that bottle is full or not."
