Barrie Douglas Foundation continues to show support as rugby club receive cash boost

The Barrie Douglas Foundation is backing Perthshire RFC’s investment in youth development.

Trustee Calum Davidson handed over a £2000 cheque to club coach Alan Clark, with captain Ewan MacKessack-Leitch and players looking on at Bell’s Sports Centre.

Club treasurer Andy Ritchie welcomed the latest backing from the foundation set-up in memory of the well-known local businessman, who played for The Eagles in his youth.

“The club is about to start refurbishing the equipment store to accommodate coaches’ meetings, video analysis and a break-out area,” Andy said. “The foundation’s donation will go towards this investment.

“Our youth section continues to thrive and we field teams from P4 through to U18.

“Our club is also delighted that the number of girls playing rugby in Perthshire has increased steadily.

“We would like to thank the foundation for their continued support and the hard work of trustees in helping many other sports throughout Perthshire and beyond.”
