A woman has tragically died after being hit by a car on Barrhead Road.
Emergency services raced to the scene just off the M77 motorway, near Silverburn shopping centre, at 5.35pm last night.
The 46-year-old woman was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the collision with a blue Subaru Impreza, however sadly she died shortly after.
Police have now launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing to the public for information.
A Police Scotland statement published this morning confirmed: "Road Policing officers in Glasgow are appealing for information following a fatal road crash on Monday, 14 December.
"The incident happened around 5.35pm on Barrhead Road close to its junction with Boydstone Road and involved a blue Subaru Impreza and a 46-year-old woman.
"Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she died a short time later. The road was closed until 1.45am on Tuesday whilst officers carried out an investigation."
Sergeant Stewart Taylor, of the Road Policing Unit, commented: "We are supporting the woman's family at this incredibly difficult time.
"Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding this crash are ongoing and we are encouraging anyone with any information to get in contact with officers. A number of passers-by stopped to assist at the scene and we are asking those who did to contact police.
"If you were in the area at the time or have any potential dashcam footage that could assist with our investigation, I would urge that you get in touch via 101, quoting reference number 2483 of 14 December."
