Barras police incident: body of man found in wasteground

A man's body has been discovered in the east end of Glasgow.

As reported by Glasgow Live, police had cordoned off a stretch of land next to Charlotte Street/London Road this morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed officers had been called to the scene at around 11.35am.

She added: "Police were called after the body of a man was found in wasteground next to Charlotte Street at around 11.35am.

"Police are still at the scene, enquiries are ongoing."

Earlier, one eyewitness told Glasgow Live they could see a "heavy police and ambulance presence and police tape cordoned off area of trees".

It's the second grim discovery in the city today.

A man's body has also been found outside Glasgow Central Station lower level entrance.

Officers were called to the scene around 10.20am after receiving reports of a body outside the station.
