Barman stabbed in neck several times in horror pub attack in Ballycanew, Co Wexford

A man was stabbed in the neck several times in a horror pub attack in a Wexford village on Saturday afternoon.

Armed gardai rushed to the scene in Ballycanew at around 11.30am on Saturday after the victim managed to flee his attacker and raise the alarm in another pub across the road.

The victim, who works at the pub where the attack happened, was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Armed gardai rushed to the scene and one man was arrested near a hardware shop close by.

It's understood the arrested man, 20s, had been staying in accommodation in the pub where the victim had also resided for the night.
