Inmates demanded Tunnocks caramel wafers during a rooftop protest at Barlinnie Prison.
The four men took to the roof of the jail yesterday afternoon, also insisting they were given Easter eggs.
The drama unfolded on Sunday afternoon when the prisoners scrambled on a bungalow-sized building, the Daily Record reports.
After a couple of hours basking in the spring sunshine, the decided it was too cold to continue their chocolate protest and demanded a ladder to get down.
The source told the Record: "They wanted Easter eggs and Tunnock's wafers.
"Nobody can get the wafers just now as Tunnock's have shut down due to the pandemic.
"They made some noise for a few hours, but when they realised their demands were not going to be met, they began complaining about the cold and asked for a ladder to come down.
"It was over and done with fairly sharply and peacefully."
A spokesman for the Scottish Prison Service said the incident was concluded quickly and peacefully and said they could not comment further.
